S+ J
Hochzeitsfotograf auf einem Alsterschiff

When S and J informed us that they will have Hamburg “freie Trauung” (open-air wedding ceremony) during a cruise on the Alster, we were beyond thrilled. After all, what can be more typical of Hamburg than a red-and-white ship on Alster lake?

We started off on Jungfernstieg on Binnenalster (Inner Alster) and sailed towards the Außenalster (Outer Alster). Midway through, the ceremony orator from Eimsbüttel district office hopped on board. Inside the small ship, S and J’s intimate ceremony took place. Together with family from both sides, we were told S and J’s love story leading to this special day. We laughed and we cried, as every beautiful love story has its ups and downs.

The color palette was indeed fitting to a ceremony on water: blue, white and various shades of red. Just as S and J’s cheerful personality, the photos that we took exuberate heart, contentment, and a breath of bewilderment, as if the day was too special it felt almost unreal. After the ceremony, we had a quick couple session in Alsterpark. At the end, grey clouds were looming, but only when we wrapped up the shoot did it start raining.

We are deeply thankful for S and J’s confidence in us. During the whole eight booked hours, we were allowed to be as creative as we want, all our ideas happily granted. We hope S and J love the photos as much as we do, and we sincerely wish our couple an exciting adventure ahead!

All the best,
